Central Area Winter
Camp
February 11 through 13, 2000
Central
Area has done it once again! Their Area Winter camp was at the Tiffin Centre just
outside Barrie during the weekend of February 11-13th. Activities included snow tubing at
Snow Valley Ski Resort, orienteering and the classic predator/prey game and a awesome
dance inside the Centre's main lodge. The weekend was attended by their largest group yet,
in excess of 95 Cadets and 15 Officers. While sleeping arrangements were a challenge to
say the least, quick thinking and a generous local Optimist club saved the day!
Hats off to the camp cooks, who prepared many hot meals by all the
appreciative mouths!
Mr. Don Smith, our new Provincial Cadet Officer (and
Webmaster of Cadets Online) had the pleasure of presenting our Province's first recipient
of our new Levels of Distinction Badge with her first BRONZE level. Terri is
expected to receive her SILVER Level of Distinction within the coming months!
