Black BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack BarBlack Bar		 Service Stripes and Stars may be worn by cadets and crusaders up to the time when they are eligible for and receive one Adult Service Bar for three years service towards their Adult Service Medal of the Order. At this time, all cadet Service Stripes and Stars will be removed from their uniform. Cadet Efficiency Stripes are awarded as follows:
  • For the first year; 1 black and white stripe
  • For the second year; 2 black and white stripes
  • For the third year; 1 Service Star, without stripes
  • For the fourth year; 1 Service Star and 1 stripe
  • For the fifth year; 1 Service Star and 2 stripes

According to the latest directive on Cadet Efficiency, Cadets may count efficient service towards the Service Award leading to the Service Medal of the Order at a ratio of 1:1 for Cadet years to Adult years.

Remember that these Stripes and Stars are not awarded to Cadets and Crusaders for years within the Brigade; but rather Efficient years within the Brigade. Efficiency requires that members are active participants within their Divisional Units and that they remain qualified according to the latest directives for membership.
